ABOUT MENTORS FOR MILITARY

Robert Gowin is a retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant (E8) that witnessed firsthand the challenges transitioning military experience during separation. After serving 20 years in the military, Robert quickly realized that the transition into the private sector was not only difficult for him, but for many others that have spent their life protecting this country. He also realized that many veterans have a story to share on topics outside of transition: combat, leadership, resiliency, adversity, fear, etc. that needed to be told.

Since his separation from the Army, Robert has spent the last 18 years in the private sector working in management consulting, strategic operational management, and as a senior executive for a Fortune 50 company. Robert is currently a C-Suite executive at a life sciences company. He also continues to educate businesses on the value that former military can bring to a company that are often overlooked or undervalued. His passion for helping others, along with the knowledge he gained working in the private sector and in the military, have led him to create this community to encourage, inspire and mentor others facing these same challenges.

Robert was raised in Florida and now resides outside of Atlanta, Georgia with his wife of over 30 years. He has two beautiful daughters who live nearby with families of their own.  In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, relaxing by the pool, playing music on his guitar and, of course, podcasting.
